Bungie has announced that the second expansion for Destiny 2, titled Warmind will be launched on 8th May. In addition Bungie also updated its development roadmap through the launch of Season 4 in September.
The name and date of Warmind expansion was revealed in a development blog post, and more will be detailed in a Twitch livestream on April 24. Warmind is the beginning of the game’s third season of content through the end of summer and, according to the post, “will send you to new places to meet new heroes and battle new enemies. You’ll earn new loot and master new activities.”
According to Bungie, Warmind will include new destinations, activities, and gear for players to chase, but there are some other improvements coming for non-DLC owners as well. Highlights from the feature list include support for Private Matches, an increase to Vault Space, and Sandbox changes for exotic weapons. This update will also introduce the multi-emote feature, which will let players choose which emotes they want to equip.
In season three of Destiny 2, Bungie also plans to change how it’s distributing content for Crucible, the game’s competitive multiplayer mode.
“For every player of Destiny 2, we’ll be releasing all of the new Crucible Maps being developed for Warmind into matchmaking,” Bungie said. “The same goes for the maps we released with Curse of Osiris. To keep the community in the Crucible unified, everyone will see new arenas in matchmade playlists like Quickplay, Competitive, Trials of the Nine, Iron Banner, as well as the new weekly rotators that include Rumble and Mayhem. That means more opponents for everyone. With the arrival of Private Matches, players will need to purchase each Expansion to have exclusive access to play those Crucible maps with other players in a private match.”
