A social-media representative for CD Projekt Red recently explained that the size of Cyberpunk 2077's open-world is difficult to calculate on-account of its innovative, explorable buildings

We recently reported that CD Project Red’s highly-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 will be as refined as red dead redemption 2 but what about the massive open world size, the Polish game studio haven't revealed about it but recently an eager fan of CDPR recently reached out to the dev through Facebook wherein a social media representative explained that the size of Cyberpunk 2077's world is difficult to measure given that it isn't an open, flat space like previous open-world games. 2077 will feature expansive interior environments too - which bolster multiple levels - therefore those will need to be taken into account.

"Night City holds six districts, but I can't give you an exact number in square meters because no one [has] counted this yet," writes the rep. "Also, this is tricky for an urban environment -- Night City has lots of buildings and these buildings have floors. You can have 120 square meters of space technically up 60m2 of space. In a tall building, and we will have many of them explorable, each floor can house a of activities. Floors stack. The Witcher 3 was, in a way, much flatter -- thee activites were scattered. Here, the world can be huge, but it can be huge upwards, or downwards."

Cyberpunk 2077 is in development for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and possibly next-gen systems.
